Items Needed by Tornado Victims & How you Can Help

*** I am collecting supplies for the Alabama/Georgia tornado disaster relief. Below is a list of much needed items. Email me at Crysta2910@gmail.com if you need the address to send your donations to.
I have received some emails from readers who would like to know what bloggers can do to help with the tornado disaster relief. I just spoke with the local rescue squad here in Calhoun/Cherokee County, Alabama & these are some items that are needed as soon as possible.

  • baby items(formula, clothing, diapers, etc)
  • clothing
  • nonperishable food items
  • toiletries (deodorant, toothbruches, etc)
  • Wal Mart gift cards
  • garbage bags & baskets for victims to collect personal belongings
  • socks and underwear (new)
  • washclothes and towels
... basically anything you can think of to send, chances are, it is needed...

I do not know the exact number of homes lost in my community, but it is many. My brother lives in Ringgold, Ga and pastors a church in Chattanooga. These areas were hit very hard, as well, so I will also find out what they need.
I feel very blessed to still have a home & know my loved ones are safe. My heart is breaking today for friends and neighbors who are much less fortunate. In this materialistic world that we live in, this puts everything into perspective. We take so many things for granted. I cannot imagine how it must feel to no longer have clothes to wear and not know how your family will receive its next meal. What a lost and empty feeling that must be. If you would like to help by donating any of these items, please leave a comment or email me at Crysta2910@gmail.com and I will give you the address that you can send things to. The internet service hasn't been consistent, so I will respond just as quickly as I can.  Please continue to pray for those in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee & all of the other states that these storms affected. Thank you so much and God Bless you all!

**Each and every donation, no matter how large or small, will have a great impact toward helping these people as they begin rebuilding their homes and their lives. Please spread the word!
